Projects

We turn Engarre’s mission into concrete projects whenever we encounter a problem and at the same time see a realistic way to improve it using our experience and ideas. Some projects are already up and running, some have been completed, and others are in preparation. Every project requires time, work, and resources. At the moment, it is possible to support Engarre as a whole. Below you’ll find an overview of what we’ve already achieved and what we’re currently working on.

After a dam failure and shifting rainfall patterns, a rural Tanzanian village lost its only water source. Engarre and the community began urgent repairs, but lack of funds and later extreme rains caused further damage, showing the need for a new long-term solution.

During a visit to a rural school in Tanzania, we found a classroom roof on the verge of collapse. Engarre organized a quick local repair, reused materials, and made the classroom safe again—while supporting local workers.

Health in Tanzania is often threatened by dirty water, hunger, and weakened bodies. Engarre focuses on prevention — access to clean drinking water, malaria prevention, and basic healthcare. Even clean water, a mosquito net, or simple equipment can make a crucial difference to health.

A rural school in Tanzania lacks basic equipment and safe classrooms, yet children are eager to learn. Engarre provided 30 new school benches made by local craftsmen, helping improve conditions, while many more are still needed.

Water here is not a given. Children walk kilometers to school, and if there is no rainwater in the tank, they return home thirsty — often with water taken straight from the lake. That is why Engarre focuses on collecting rainwater where it matters most: at the school.

Women in Tanzania carry most of the daily workload, yet rarely have their own income. They are skilled, hardworking, and creative. Engarre aims to support their independence by helping Maasai women sell their handmade beaded jewelry and earn a direct income.

People in Tanzania are not lazy — they have simply adapted to the heat and work when conditions allow. They rise before dawn, take every opportunity they can, and support their families through often uncertain work. Engarre’s projects offer fair income opportunities and help the entire community grow.

Status: on the run

Children in Tanzania make do with imagination, dust, and a plastic bottle, yet their desire to learn and move is immense. Engarre aims to support this energy by building a community leisure center with a library, sports field, and a safe space for children and adults alike a place to play, learn, read, grow, and always have access to clean water.
